Today FNC Entertainment debuted their newest boy group P1Harmony, consisting of the six members Keeho, Theo, Jiung, Intak, Soul, and Jongseob. Their teaser pictures looked super cool, let’s dive into the music and check the sound of these 2020 rookies.
DISHARMONY : STAND OUT
Written by the members, ‘Intro; Breakthrough’ starts off the release with hip-hop vibes mixed with some very interesting instrumentation, I’m already hooked to the sound of this group. It is really cool and not the conventional intro of a rookie group.
The title track ‘SIREN’ is next with a more hip-hop rooted sound and fantastic singing and rap delivery. The urban vibe fits this group very well and the music video is full of really cool visuals, extra colorful sets and a kinda laid back feel that I liked.
‘Nemonade’ plays next, starting with fantastic vocalization that feels quite rough, raw and very unique. The guitar playing throughout the full track was a fantastic addition to the layering of the song. This track is definitely a very interesting listen.
Cypher-like instrumentation kicks off ‘That’s It’ and this song is IT, the delivery of the verses is fire and the underground hip-hop vibe is super cool. The almost fully instrumental bridge was a really nice touch, this song flows flawlessly and I really like how unexpected it is for a debut EP.
‘Butterfly’ is next with a more R&B/urban sound, the rapline and vocal line of P1Harmony really shines in this track. They hit the notes and deliver rap verses flawlessly. This song is absolutely captivating.
Last on this EP is ‘Skit; Disharmony #1’, with this track we get to listen to the boys’ thoughts about life. They truly stayed close to the hip-hop vibe with this track.
P1Harmony’s debut EP was a great surprise, they truly came out with a unique sound. The members were involved in the lyrics writing, and that makes it even more impressive, especially for a rookie group.
