ONEW is back with his fourth mini)album ‘CONNECTION’. This album “shows an organic connection between his inner and outer self.” He’s listed as a co-producer for this album which we love. Let’s take a closer look.
CONNECTION
We start off with the title track ‘Winner’ which was co-written by Seo Ji-eum and Onew. This is a beautiful, meaningful track. I love the progression and the vintage band sound. The build-up is stunning and satisfying. Onew’s vocals are warm and just like the song’s message, uplifting.

‘Promise You’ is an easy-listening pop track with lovely synths and a really cool instrumental layering. The lyrics are beautiful, lovely and soothing. This is an adorable track across the board.
Next up is ‘Boy’. We’re going retro with this one, think 70s disco. The synths and the drums are a lot of fun and this feels quite summery.
‘Gradation’ is an R&B track with a very vintage piano and some stunning vocal work. The instrumentals are on the minimalistic side which lets you really take in and appreciate the vocal harmonies. This is a fantastic listen.
‘Conversation’ takes us to a pop disco vibe with a bouncy rhythm, cool synths and some fun vocal distortion. This is an easy listen and begs to sing along to. The bridge sounds so funny to me, I love it.
We close off with the track ‘Yay’. This was a pre-release from three weeks ago. I’m absolutely loving the guitars in this one. It’s one groovy track!
