TR.EE

We start things off with ‘Hold onto My Back‘, a smooth and confident opener that immediately sets the tone for the mini-album. Built around a retro-inspired R&B sound, the track combines deep, sultry vocals with a slick guitar riff that effortlessly draws listeners in. The entire song feels sophisticated and relaxed, creating an immersive listening experience from the very first note.

The title track, ‘Layback‘, keeps the smoothness flowing while introducing a dreamier atmosphere. The groove throughout the song is absolutely flawless, blending laid-back rhythms with polished production. JAY B effortlessly transitions between melodic rap sections and soaring vocals, showcasing the versatility that has become one of his trademarks. The music video further elevates the track with stunning visuals, stylish aesthetics, and an effortlessly charismatic performance that perfectly matches the song’s vibe.

Guitar and synth elements merge beautifully in ‘Overflow‘, a track that fully embraces chill R&B. The production is a standout, with a polished mix that allows every element to breathe. JAY B’s airy vocal delivery adds another layer of smoothness, making the song feel both intimate and atmospheric.

One Call Away‘ introduces lo-fi R&B influences into the project. Warm and comforting, the track balances groovy rhythms with soft melodies that make it an easy song to get lost in. The vocal layering is exceptional, while the subtle breathiness at the end of certain lines adds extra texture and personality to the performance.

Piano instrumentals introduce ‘Time‘, a song that channels the spirit of classic ’90s R&B while maintaining a modern edge. The bassline is irresistibly groovy, and the combination of rich instrumentation and JAY B’s vocals creates a track that feels timeless yet contemporary.

Closing the mini-album is ‘We‘, a song that wraps up the project on a warm and comforting note. Supported by gentle guitar instrumentals and heartfelt vocals, the track creates a sense of closure that feels both satisfying and sincere. The ad-libs add even more richness to the arrangement, making it the perfect ending to an already cohesive release.

With ‘TR.EE’, JAY B delivers a stunning third mini-album that feels authentic to his artistry while continuing to showcase his growth as a solo artist. The project moves effortlessly through different shades of R&B, creating a listening experience that is smooth, cohesive, and impossible to skip.
