Ha Sung Woon is back with his new EP ‘MIRAGE’. This is his fourth solo mini-album, since he debuted in 2019. Let’s check out this release.
MIRAGE
The title track ‘Forbidden Island’ is first on this release with vocals that feel like a whisper in your ears, and an R&B feel in the music that is super interesting. I like the grooviness of this song and how it started with the piano instrumentation.
The music video is stunning, he looks incredible, the sets are extra glamorous. Big shoutout to whoever came up with the almost floral throne. Absolutely gorgeous.
‘Candle Light’ is next with a softer concept. The mixing in this track is fantastic, it goes back and forth between piano and EDM, with fantastic inclusions to the track that makes it super cool to listen to. I especially loved the whale singing incorporation, it definitely gave this song a special touch.
Next on the list is ‘2000 Miles’ with a more electronic driven track and a summer vibe to it I totally dig. The vocal distortion at the beginning and middle of the song were an interesting addition that definitely fit the feeling of this track. It’s totally a song to add to your road trip playlist.
The ballad ‘Without You’ is giving us all the feels with Sung Woon’s airy vocals and an emotional delivery. There is an innocent and careless feel in this track that makes it super special and heartwarming.
‘Talk To Me’ closes this extended play on an emotional note with an almost sorrowful delivery, a lot of emotions and powerful vocals. The electric guitar was an incredible touch that added even more feeling to this track. Stunning.
This EP definitely showed the power vocals of Ha Sung Woon and how diverse his music can be. He co-wrote all the songs in this release and took part in the composition of many of them.
This EP is not available on Spotify yet, in the meantime enjoy this release here.
