[Review] (G)I-DLE – I SWAY

The girls from (G)I-DLE are back to slay with their new mini-album ‘I SWAY’. Let’s dive right in because I’m expecting bops!

I SWAY

We start off with the title track ‘Klaxon’. This is a pop dance track that just screams summer. It’s vibey, has great layering and I enjoyed the brass in the instrumentals as well as the piano riff.

The video is giving me Shania Twain meets Pussycat Dolls and I’m living for it. Also Minnie with the curls is just *chef’s kiss*.

Yuqi has writing credits for ‘Last Forever’. This is a very solid pop track with a good beat nd a nice progression. In the track they sing that their dreams and hopes and their passion have remained unchanged.

‘Bloom’ was co-written by Minnie. We’re going for Easy Pop with a bit of synth thrown in that gives it a retro vibe. I absolutely loved this chill moment.

The closing track is ‘Neverland’ is a folk rock track which was co-written by Yuqi and Minnie. I love the acoustic guitars in the instrumentals and the uplifting, wholesome ambience. Adorable!
