[Review] ENHYPEN – THE SIN: VANISH

The boys from ENHYPEN are back with their seventh mini-album ‘THE SIN: VANISH’. We’re super curious about this concept album, so let’s take a closer look!

THE SIN: VANISH

We start off with the opening track ‘사건의 발단’ which is the intro and actor Park Jung-min narrates a mysterious incident.

So!YoON! is a feature on the following track ‘No Way Back’. This is an alternative R&B track with a really cool synth line. I like how the intensity builds up like crazy.

‘도망자들’ continues the narration of the opening track.

After that comes the title track ‘Knife’ which is a trap based hip-hop track with funky synths and minimal layering.

“It intensively shows the confidence of a lover who will not give in to any threat and the powerful energy of ENHYPEN.”

‘Stealer’ is next. This is a dance pop track with a Latin beat and a lot of groove. You’ll be bopping your shoulders to this in no time.

‘우리가 찾던 목소리’ is a continuation of the narration. ‘목격자’ is a skit that shows testimonies of the locals seeing the vampires.

The following track is ‘Big Girls don’t Cry’. I dig this, it’s groovy!

‘Lost Island’ is a cute modern pop track that “depicts a romantic moment between lovers who are immersed in each other even in the midst of a hectic escape. The short but complete feeling of happiness felt in a hideout where only the two exist brings sweetness. “

Next up is ‘Sleep Tight’ which was co-composed by Jake. Heeseung is credited as one of the writers. It’s an R&B track with a nice progression and some lovely vocals.

We close off with the last bit of narration in ‘사건의 너머’.

You can find the English translations of the narration parts here.
