[Review] Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol

2020 has brought amazing dramas with a variety of genres, today we will be talking about one I was thrilled about when it was announced. We will be talking about the KBS production ‘Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol’.

Written by Oh Ji-young and directed by Kim Min-Kyeong, ‘Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol’ is a drama that mixes two of my favourite genres, comedy and romance with a touch of music.

From Rich to Rag

Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol’ starred Lee Jae-wook as Sunwoo Joon and Go Ara as Goo Ra-ra. The drama focuses on Ra-ra, an heiress of a cosmetic company who loses her fortune after the sudden death of her father and the company going bankrupt.

Ra-ra gets a small part from what is left after the cosmetic company is liquidated and rents an apartment, however, she gets scammed and loses the money. Ra-ra’s life changes drastically and she found comfort in a mysterious person on her social media who constantly asks her how she is doing and how she feels. One day she decides to meet him in Eunpo.

In Eunpo she meets Sunwoo Joon after having a car accident on the way to meet her online friend. Joon is a hardworking guy with a mysterious past who helps her as much as he can by lending her money, these two develop a lovely friendship that changes to romantic feelings as they grow closer.

Sunwoo Joon, is a kind hearted guy who in reality is a runaway school student in his last year, he is really caring and even though he tends to be quite distant he always is willing to help others, specially Ra-ra.

Ra-ra is a former pianist who retired after graduating from university, she decides to go back to play the piano and opens an academy in Eunpo, she tries to get as many students as she can to be able to pay Joon back.

Joon eventually has to go back to his life and finish his studies, however, an unexpected situation changes everything in his life.

This drama develops between these two characters adjusting to their new lives, facing new challenges and growing together. Joon and Ra-ra are surrounded by the people of Eunpo, kind-hearted neighbours who have each other’s back.

Main leads

The Eunpo people made this drama extremely enjoyable, all their stories were heartwarming and an important part of the plot, their growth was very enjoyable to watch and the actresses and actors were fantastic.

This is Jae-wook’s first main male role since his debut in 2018, he has had a fantastic couple of years and I’m thrilled to see what’s next for this very talented young actor. Go Ara as usual did a flawless job with her role, making it adorable and relatable.

Overall, ‘Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol’ is a drama full of lovely characters and fantastic music that made it super enjoyable, fun and at times also had me in tears. The drama is available on Netflix, you can watch the trailer below.
