[Review] CORTIS – GREENGREEN

Rookie group CORTIS are back with new music in their second EP ‘GREENGREEN’. Since their debut, they’ve consistently delivered bop after bop, building a viral reputation through their unique concept and sound. With this release, expectations are high, let’s dive in.

GREENGREEN

TNT’ kicks off the EP with a track that feels unmistakably CORTIS. The blend of beats and instrumentals is unconventional and unpredictable, but they make it work effortlessly through energetic rap flows, sharp ad-libs, and bold delivery. It’s a strong, high-impact opener.

The pre-release single ‘REDRED’, which also serves as the title track, continues the group’s signature style. With its unique composition, layered production, and catchy riff, the track is instantly memorable. Its rhythm is easy to follow, and the overall vibe is dynamic and addictive.

ACAI’ takes a more playful and carefree approach. Unapologetically fun and slightly chaotic, the track embraces a lighthearted tone while remaining catchy and refreshing, showing another side of the group’s personality.

With ‘YOUNGCREATORCREW’, CORTIS lean into a raw, indie-inspired sound. The track feels playful yet unpolished in the best way, with creative transitions, bouncy rap delivery, and lively ad-libs that keep the energy high.

Wassup: This Song’ shifts the mood, bringing a more serious and introspective tone. Its layered production and beat mix create an angsty yet reflective atmosphere, highlighting the group’s ability to balance intensity with emotion.

Closing the EP is ‘Blue Lips’, a standout track that surprises with its piano-driven instrumental and melodic rap style. The subtle use of autotune enhances the mood without overpowering it, resulting in a unique and memorable ending to the project.

CORTIS deliver an EP that expands their sound while staying true to their identity. ‘GREENGREEN’ is bold, experimental, and undeniably authentic, proving once again why they’re one of the most exciting rookie acts to watch. Make sure to check this release here.
