The boys from Close Your Eyes are back with their EP ‘256th Note’. Let’s take a closer look because I’m super curious.
256th Note
We start off with the pre-released ‘Open Your Eyes’. This came out about two weeks ago.
That’s followed up with ‘Drop That’ which is the title track of this comeback. This is a reinterpretation of Yoon Si-nae’s ‘Enjoy This Night’. I absolutely loved this track. The jazzy funkiness of it all is super interesting and the retro samples really helped tie this all together. What a track!
After that comes ‘Vibe Check’. This is a bit more of a hip-hop heavy track which is very cool and has an interesting dynamic with the samples and beat changes. Honestly this was an impressive listen.
‘Slowly Bleed’ is, according to the album description, “electro-pop and alternative R&B with a focus on the contemporary pop genre.” This has fantastic vocals, a stunning bridge and a lovely progression.
‘Fool For You’ blends R&B and soft synths. “It expresses the honest feelings in the face of love with a calm yet delicate sensibility, and the lyrics, imbued with the unique boyish charm of CLOSE YOUR EYES, are attractive.”
Next up is ‘Baby Bossa Nova’ featuring R&B singer Joo Hyelin. If you don’t know Joo Hyelin please listen to this album. She’s absolutely fantastic, we also wrote about her here. This was a very cute listen!
The EP closes with the track ‘Eternity’ which is a ballad with a beautiful piano line and all of the members helped write the lyrics.
