The one and only CL is back with her first album ‘ALPHA‘. We have all been looking forward to this release, and we cannot wait to see the surprises the queen CL has prepared for fans in this release.
This release includes eleven tracks from which four were pre-released as a taster for this long awaited album. Let’s start diving into the music of this release.
ALPHA
‘SPICY‘ and ‘Lover Like Me‘ start off this release. These singles were pre-released a couple of weeks ago, for a detailed reviews make sure to click on the title. Below you can watch the music videos for them.
Next up is ‘Chuck‘, this hip-hop track seriously slaps with its beat. CL delivers some killer verses and I really loved its old school vibe.
‘Xai‘ comes along with a cool EDM arrangement and unique style, this is the first time I listen to CL trying this style, and it really worked well with her vocals, it is very fresh and new to her discography.
The pop track ‘Let It‘ takes over and this song really reminded me of CL’s time in 2NE1, this song has the kind of vibe the group would go for and I really liked the laid back and chill style to it.
The title track for this release, ‘Tie a Cherry‘, is next and with this song she really surpassed and went over all my expectations. The single is super cool and I feel it summarizes and really explores the concept of this album.
The music video is amazing, the visuals, outfits and cinematography is TOP TIER, the effects are incredible and the styling was mind-blowing. Check it below.
A new beginning
CL’s rapping takes over in ‘Paradise‘. This track is a lot more experimental but I really dig the style and her enhanced vocals. ‘My Way‘ follows this song and she goes off in this hip-hop track. The speed and beats were super cool and the vocal in the bridge fantastic. What a QUEEN!
We go onto the pop-ballad ‘Siren‘, the instrumentation in this song is just SO GOOD. I liked how well balanced it is and CL’s vocals are at its finest in this single.
The last two tracks in this album are ‘HWA‘ and ‘5 STAR‘, pre-released last year. Check the music videos below.
