[Review] 1THE9 – Turn Over

1THE9 is back with their third mini-album ‘Turn Over’. Supposedly, this is their last comeback as 1THE9 as they are only a temporary unit. The nine members were the winners of the survival show Under Nineteen.

Let’s dive in!

Turn Over

The opener is the title track ‘Bad Guy’. It’s a fast paced pop song with heavy synths and a really catchy hook. There are some really smooth vocals in there and it’s just overall great. Honestly, a fantastic title track.

Next up is ‘PARADISE’. This song is fantastic, right off the bat. I’m loving the indie rock vibe. The drums are completely going off and the guitar that comes in makes it *chef’s kiss*. The chanting in the background makes it really fun.

The third track is ‘GLOW’. It takes us to a slower tempo with some really cool synths in the back. I’m a little in love with the chorus, because it’s so effortlessly cool. Also I was hella shook when someone just blew into the mic. The vocal adlibs in the last chorus were superb.

‘Dream In The Sky’ is the last original track on ‘Turn Over’. The last song is the instrumental version of ‘Bad Guy’. We’re going to Sad Town with this ballad. The vocals really drew out the emotions. I’d love to listen to an acoustic version of this, scale it down a bit with just a guitar. This song hits even harder when you think about the fact that they probably only have a couple of occasions to sing all together as 1THE9.

Overall

‘Turn Over’ by 1THE9 is absolutely lovely to listen to. It’s a great mini-album that shows all of their strengths.
