For this week’s R&B Gem we are sharing the career of an indie R&B band with an incredible sound and smooth vocals. Let’s talk about From all to human.
From all to human’s line-up consists of Blessing as vocalist, Moon Sung-hwan on the keyboard, Moon Sung-ho on the drums, Lee jun on the bass and Park Jae-woo as the guitarist. They are signed under indie label RCDNYZ. Their first single ‘Dizzy’ was released in 2017.
The MELON description for this song describes this track as “The hard and weary beings who live their lives rest and recover in their own ways. The song, which expresses the abandonment of the process (…)”.
With the description they also implied that this is the type of music this R&B band was going for from the beginning. Watch their live performance below.
This release was followed by ‘Hotel alone’ in the same year. The lyrics of this track are super heartfelt and sad at the same time, part of it goes as:
“(…)When you smile
I’m becoming more lonely
When you shine
you make me more miserable
I have nothing
My love
I have nothing(…)”

In 2018, they came back with their third single ‘2bed’. In MELON, this song is described as “(…) the story of timidity and loneliness that we have tried to ignore in a calm color (…)”. Watch the performance below.
Unfinished Beings
In 2018, they released their first extended play ‘LIEF’, the title track for this release is ‘Don’t be disappointed’, the lyrics for this track are about self-acceptance and embracing one-self, wholesome from start to end. Check the performance below.
Their second EP ‘Paradise’ was released next, for this album the band went for a more subtle American style but they kept the smoothness and richness of their music. You can listen to the title track ‘Vacay’ featuring Kirin, below.
Their third extended play ‘Double barrel’ was released in 2019. In this release the band had a more Soul music influenced sound but they kept the immaculate smooth vibe that is so characteristic in their music.
Towards the end of 2019, they released their fourth EP ‘Resistance’. Its MELON description explains that this EP provides a glimpse of the “past stories and future moves” of the band.
From all to human’s latest release is the single ‘Wake up’ with Smoothjam. This song is part of the ‘Project [Make & Shake #01]’ with Midnight Munchies. If you are up to jazzy R&B this song is for you. Check it below.
