Today’s feature was a contestant in not one but two seasons of the famous hip-hop survival program ‘Show Me the Money’. He is an all rounder who is able to rap, write songs and also act. Today’s feature is the very talented ONE.
Jung Je-won (a.k.a. ONE) began his career as part of the hip hop duo 1Punch along with Samuel Kim in 2015 under Brave Entertainment and released the songs ‘Turn me back’ and ‘Nightmare’. Check out the music videos below.
He took part in the seasons 4 and 5 of ‘Show Me the Money’, and even though in the former one he was eliminated in the fifth episode, he was also scouted by YG Entertainment, which made 1Punch disband.
In the following season he achieved an all kill with the song ‘Comfortable’ featuring the producers of the fifth season Simon Dominic and Gray. Here is the clip of the song.
In 2017, ONE debuted as a solo artist with the single album ‘One Day’ which he wrote and produced himself, it included the singles ‘Gettin’ By’ and ‘heyahe’. The two songs did extremely well in the charts. Below are the music videos for both songs.
During his time in YG he also started off his acting career and was casted for a few series and movies. However in 2019, he decided to part ways with YG and establish a one-man agency.
In a recent interview with VICE ASIA ONE opened up about the struggles he faced while being in his former agencies. In this interview he talks about how he struggled with the K-pop system and how he wanted to be recognized for the music he loved to make rather than what he was guided to do.
“I went through even more rigorous training and again was forced to fit into a certain mould, that wasn’t truly me. This manifested in a lot of ways, from having me create songs that were not true to my style, to changing my fashion style to something that felt unnatural. It was like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole (…)”

In November 2019, he released his first full length album ‘PRVT01’ with the title tracks ‘Stone’ and ‘Hard to Love’. Below you can watch the music videos for both songs.
