EP Review: TXT – The Dream Chapter: ETERNITY

Tomorrow X Together is back with a brand new EP and one stunning concept. The 2019 rookies under BigHit Entertainment have been ranking in the music charts since their debut, and with this comeback ‘The Dream Chapter: ETERNITY’, they just reiterated why they are considered monster rookies. They are just so talented.

We are very excited about this comeback. Let’s dive right in!

The Dream Chapter: ETERNITY

Drama’ opens up this EP with some incredible tunes. This track has a jazzy-pop feeling to it and some incredible layering and mixing. The members’ vocals are incredible as usual but the instrumental accompaniment with the electric guitar, the keyboard and trumpets made this track a full trip to my ears.

Next is the title track ‘Can’t You See Me?’, this song definitely has a darker concept in comparison to ‘Drama’. I was particularly in awe with the beat drops and the very deep vocals that followed in this track. The changes are incredible and leave listeners expectant and almost in alert to figure out what’s next. Below you can watch the music video.

Fairy of Shampoo’ plays next and the intro for this song is splendid. This remake of the song originally by Light and Salt has the same R&B feeling of the original one but Yeonjun added a special touch to this track with the addition of his rapping verse. This cover is absolutely wonderful, the vocals are good, the harmonization breathtaking, the trumpet solo towards the end is just exquisite. Can it get any better?.

Starting off with some angelic vocals is ‘Maze in the Mirror’, all the members took part in the writing of this song, and Beomgyu is one of the producers. This pop-ballad has a 90s vibe that I particularly loved. The full flow of it, the mixing and layering are just thrilling.

PUMA’ is next with a pop/EDM sound mixed with hip-hop beats. This song definitely feels darker and heavier than the previous tracks. The mixing in it is fantastic, and the rapping is top notch.

Closing this release we have ‘Eternally’, this track starts off being angelic with astonishing vocalization and harmonizations. The beat drop opens the door to a different dimension of this track, with darker and heavier beats, and somehow both extremes work in perfect synergy making this track a piece of art to be remembered.

The Dream Chapter: ETERNITY’ is a release that left me speechless. I love all of TXT’s music but this EP ranks first in my personal chart.  You can listen to this masterpiece below.
