We all love the massive video productions and visuals Korean artists show in their music videos, and for today’s Offstage we want to share the incredible work of a production team behind the creation of many of our favourite music videos. This week is all about Rigend Film.

Rigend Film was co-founded by Yoon Seung Rim and Jang Dongjung. In an interview done for ‘Talk Talk Korea’, they both share that their passion for production started at an early age, and they both started off to pave their way in the industry by taking assistant director positions.
After working together for many years under their coach, they decided to start off with Rigend Film in 2016, aiming to produce commercials and music videos.
With PD Dongju leading the production, and PD Yoon planning the videos. The duo always aims to create productions using ‘visual narrative’ that mesmerises the viewers.
First music video
Rigend Film’s first music video was none other than Boi.B’s ‘ADY’ featuring Sik-K. In an interview done for CCBB, they shared that feedback is one of the most important aspects in the industry, for their first music video they worked on a small budget but achieved a great final result.
Soon after this, they were contacted by Henry and SM Entertainment staff to work on one of his projects, and from that moment they really took off.
The following years they continued working with SM, and created some incredible masterpieces for a lot of our favourite artists. Check them below.
Expansion overseas
In 2020, Rigend Films took the challenge of expanding overseas, and one of their first projects was the collaborative project ‘Let’s Shut Up & Dance’ with Jason Deluro, Lay and NCT 127.
Other very important commercial projects were with the Indonesian brand TOKOPEDIA, and their numeros collabs with Korean Idol Groups, including BTS, TWICE, BlackPink, NCT, DAY6, Oh My Girl!, and more.
