Mini-Album Review: iKON – iDECIDE

iKON is back with a brand new mini album after almost a hiatus of a year and I couldn’t be more excited to see this new release. I have been following iKON since they were in Mix and Match a few years ago, and I’m just glad they have overcome all the difficulties they have had and they were able to release this EP for them and iKONICS.

iDECIDE’ is the name of this mini-album and kicks off with ‘Ah Yeah’, this track screams iKON everywhere with its tunes, the inclusion of the drums and the electric guitar work flawlessly with the members’ vocals and Bobby as usual killed it with his rap.

Second on this release is ‘Dive’ and it is also the title song. The harmonica at the beginning of the song has an old western movie soundtrack vibe that I totally dig. I particularly loved June and Jay’s vocals in this track and the music video is super cool. Check it out.

All The World’ is next with a more up-beat pop style. The harmonization of the members towards the end and June’s ad-libs gave me all the feels. ‘Holding On’ follows it and I loved DK, Song and Chan’s parts in this song. I really want to see the live performance of this one, I can totally see the members having a blast while singing it.

Flower’ closes this release, and this song is pure emotional whiplash especially at the beginning (iKONICS you get me), this song is my favourite one on ‘iDECIDE’. I can clearly picture and hear the members’ feelings while signing, it is just heartbreaking.

iKON’s ballads are bullets to the heart. They can definitely bring out emotions with the members’ vocals and the last song of this EP is no exception to this.

This mini-album was highly expected by iKONICs, and iKON did a great job with this album. Make sure to listen to the full thing below and STREAM DIVE.
