Mini-Album Review: ELRIS – JACKPOT

The girl group ELRIS is back with new members and a brand new mini album titled ‘Jackpot’. The Hunus Entertainment group originally debuted in 2017 with 5 members but in this comeback, 2 new members were included. Let’s start this off.

‘Intro’ starts this mini album with hyped-up beats and absolutely sets the mood for the release. ‘Jackpot’ follows it and it is also the title track. This song is just so happy, it feels like a summer release with happy beats and a bubblegum kpop style. The music video is super cool! The members’ outfits are gorgeous. Check it out.

Third on the list is ‘This is me’. This song goes hard on electronic beats mixed with the members’ vocals. I particularly liked how the song, despite being up-beat also shows off the vocal range of some of the members. Also, I would love to see the choreo for this performance.

‘Like I do’ is next and follows with a similar style to the previous ‘This is me’. The high pitched note towards the end gave me the chills. What a legend!

Closing this mini album is ‘No Big Deal’. This song has a jazzy vibe to it that I absolutely loved. Its low tempo mixed with the members’ voices was unexpected and completely different to the rest of the songs in this release. My favourite part was the hook and the rapping, the members’ back vocal saying ‘It’s no big deal’ in a low register voice is just super cool.

Make sure to listen to this release, and let us know what your favourite track was in this mini album.
