Label Deep Dive: Antenna

We’re back with a new Label Deep Dive, this time we’re taking a look at Antenna. If you’re into Indie music, stick around!

Founding

The record label was founded in 1997 by You Hee-yeol. Originally a singer-songwriter and producer and part of the one-member band Toy, he’s proven himself to be quite an interesting business man as well.

The band Toy was originally a two member group, but member Yoon Jeong-oh left after the first album was released. Toy still is really popular to this day.

You undoubtedly have seen Yoo Hee-yeol in various survival shows. Besides being a judge in ‘Superstar K’ and the new upcoming season of ‘Super Band’. He has his very own music show ‘Yoo Hee-yeol’s Sketchbook’ that has been airing since 2009 and features both big and small artists.

Musicians

In the very beginning, Yoo Hee-yeol released only his own albums as Toy but eventually signed incredible artists like Lucid Fall, Kim Yeon-woo and Park Sae-Byul.

Here are a couple of their music videos.

Slogan

Of course it didn’t just stay with those artists. They expanded and added the group Peppertones and solo artists like Sam Kim, Kwon Jin Ah, Jung Seung Hwan and Lee Jin-Ah

You can find the full range of artists under the label on their official website here.

Some of the singers signed under the label are some of my all-time favorites. I know that when I want quality music, I can always find these artists. There’s a wide range from soul soothing music, to Top 10 bangers to perfect rock music.

The slogan of the record label Antenna is ‘Good people, good music’ and it’s something I genuinely believe.

Here’s a small selection of my favorites.

Recently the label Antenna even signed their first entertainer! None other than Yoo Jae-Suk signed with Antenna and that’s no small feat.

Lastly, you can find Antenna on Twitter here.

The last thing I wanted to share is the series of online concerts they did at the very start of the global pandemic. ‘Everything is OK’ was genuinely a heartwarming free concert that lifted my spirits and gave me a pat on my shoulder. If you’re in need of something uplifting, check these out.
