[Indie Pick] wave to earth

We’re back with our new Indie Pick; wave to earth. We’ve featured this Indie band here and there in our Weekly K-Indie Reports and even in our Korean Indie/Rock Bands Part 5.

Wave to earth is a three member band consisting of vocalist Kim Daniel, drummer Shin Dong-gyu and guitarist Cha John.

Kim Daniel you might recognize from the band The Poles that he’s also in. Cha John is also in the band JRC Trio.

Debut

The trio debuted in 2019 with the single ‘Wave’. Its chill vibe immediately sets the right tone and Daniel’s beautiful timbre is super soothing which makes it a very smooth listen.

Their first comeback was the single ‘Light’.

Wave to earth released their first EP ‘wave 0.01’ in 2020. It had their previous two releases and four unreleased songs. ‘Gold’ is one of two title tracks of this one and has a super nice bass line. You can feel it in your guts and it’s awesome.

Later that year they came back with the single ‘Surf’ and their second EP ‘summer flows 0.02’.

‘Ride’ is one of their two title tracks for that EP and is such a vibe. It’s also one of their few Korean songs as most of their music is in English.

Their latest comeback was with the single ‘Pueblo’ with an adorable animation.

Honestly, if you need some dreamy indie rock in your life, I would definitely recommend listening to wave to earth.
