Indie Pick: oomool

We’re back with a brand new Indie Pick and this week we’re taking a closer look at the indie band oomool.

Oomool

The group consisted of Lee Jung Hoon (Vocal, Guitar), Lee Jun Ho (Guitar), Hwang Jong Yeop (Keyboard), Han Seong Ryeong (Drum) and Hong Jun Ki (Bass). They sadly disbanded in 2024.

They debuted in 2021 with ‘Deep Sea’ with the title track ‘0’.

A year after they released the singles ‘Desertification’, ‘Mercury’ and ‘Chrysanthemum’.

In 2023 oomool released the album ‘Dry/Garden’. They included the single releases as well as some new tracks like the title track ‘Spatiotemporal’.

I loved this part of the album introduction: “This is a dry/garden where you, who have been worn down to the point of tatters, and who know that you must continue living after that, can endure not too much and often collapse and rest your body. Lie down deeply and comfortably among the flowers in full bloom and listen to the words spoken for you. And then hold hands and get up again and stand on the ground.”
