Indie Pick: Gogang

We have a brand new Indie Pick, this time we’re diving deeper into the discography of Gogang.

Gogang started his career in 2014 with the single album ‘Paint You Black’. Though sadly that’s not on Spotify, I couldn’t find it on Soundcloud either. However, I eventually found it on YouTube Music (which honestly surprised me). Gogang’s a 93-liner and is currently under the label S&Sound.

He writes, composes and arranges pretty much all of his music himself. So that’s some TALENT y’all.

The Discography

‘Midnight Blue’ is the first song I ever heard by Gogang. There was just something about the softness of the song and the ethereal beauty of the music video that captivated me immediately.

The same counts for this track. Sometimes you don’t need a massive budget to make an simple, elegant music video that fits the song beautifully.

Here’s a video of him singing live, because I feel like he doesn’t often appear in his MVs himself. He’s also really good live, he’s playing the guitar and I love that we get to see some of his tattoos.

Check out this one as well.

His latest release is the OST ‘Day Always Come On Time’ for the K-Drama ‘The Game: Towards Zero’. I’m actually quite curious about this drama, especially because Ok Taec-yeon is in it. I thought he was brilliant in ‘Save Me’

Take a look at these lyrics for ‘Day Always Come On Time’.

Take a breath
to feel alive
If I’m gonna walk on thin ice
I’ll take a sip of sweet coffee
I’m too far away
to blame on someone’s sin
A boy was crying until he got tired
but day always come on time

Recently he also launched a new collab with Mino_zin. The duo goes under the name My Little Hobby and released this single.

I am so happy I was able to share my love for this brilliant artist. Gogang really embodies the term Indie singer for me with his laidback style, his meaningful lyrics and beautiful melodies.

Go follow him on his socials. Here are the links for his Instagram and his Spotify profile.
