We’re back with a new Actor Spotlight, this time about the wonderful Nam Goong Min. The actor, screenwriter and director had his start in 2001 with a role in the film ‘Bungee Jumping of Their Own’.

In the same year he also had a role in the film ‘Bad Guy’. A year later, he had his first appearance on the small screen with a role in ‘Big Hit Family’.

His first main role in a film was in 2006 with his role in ‘A Dirty Carnival’. You can watch the trailer for that here.

Dramas

Nam Goong has played in a lot of very successful dramas. He goes from action, to romcoms in a flash and has a very interesting filmography.

He played one of the lead roles in ‘My Lovely Family’ that takes a closer look at relationships and divorces in 2006. The same year he also had a lead role in ‘One Fine Day’ alongside Gong Yoo.

His role in ‘Listen to my heart’ (2011) shows some excellent acting in the melodrama.

The first villain role came in the 2015 drama ‘The Girl Who Sees Smells’. He even won a couple of awards for his performance. After that he got the main roles in ‘Remember: War of the Son’ and ‘Beautiful Gong Shim’.

Nam Goong Min has played villains so well, he was even in a ‘Happy Together’ Special with only villains in popular series.

‘Good Manager’ let Nam Goong show his comedy skills in the hit series. During the 2017 KBS Drama Awards he even won ‘Best Couple’ with one of his male co-stars for the drama ‘Good Manager’.

Daesang

For his role in the drama ‘Hot Stove League’ Nam Goong won his first Daesang at the 2020 SBS Drama Awards.

Nam Goong was also the presenter of the survival show ‘I-LAND’ that was the start of the popular group ENHYPEN

Nam Goong Min has a very interesting career behind him and I’m sure we’ll get more quality performances from him. In 2018 he even flexed his directing skills in the film ‘Light My Fire’.

It’s always exciting to see which projects he’ll do. They have a broad range from mafia noir films to cheesy romantic dramas. Anything is possible.

In his upcoming 2021 drama ‘The Veil’ we’ll see more of his spectacular acting.
