This time for our spotlight we want to talk about an actress who blew us away with her acting in one of Netflix’s latest series ‘The Glory’. If you are as obsessed as us, keep reading. Today we are talking about the one and only Lim Ji-yeon.
Ji-yeon debuted officially in 2014 with the film ‘Obsessed’, however, she had already participated in different projects since 2011. She met the director of this film while working in short films. Her debut project earned her several major awards, including the Best New Actress in the 2014 Buil Film Award and Grand Bell Awards.
In 2015, she landed the main roles for the movie ‘The Treacherous’ and the drama ‘High Society’. Her participation in the latter, earned her the Best New Actress award in the 2015 APAN Star Award and Korea Drama Awards, along with the New Star Award in the 2015 SBS Drama Awards.
Between 2016 and 2017, Ji-yeon participated in several productions including the dramas ‘The Royal Gambler’, ‘Doctors’, ‘Blow Breeze’ and the movie ‘Luck-Key’.
After a short break, she returned to the small screen in 2019 with the drama ‘Welcome 2 Life’, her incredible performance in this project earned her the Best Actress award and the 2019 MBC Drama Awards. This same year she also participated in the movie ‘Tazza: One Eyed Jack’.
International Recognition
Lim Ji-yeon’s acting skills improved even more in her upcoming projects, in 2021 she returned to the big screen with the film ‘Spiritwalker’, and the following year she landed main roles for the productions ‘Rose Mansion’, ‘Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area – Part 2’, and ‘The Glory’.
Her latest project was the second part of the Netflix production ‘The Glory’, and she is set to participate in the upcoming project ‘National Death Penalty Vote’ based on the webcomic with the same name.
