AOMG rapper Woo is back with his new album ‘Black Out’. This is the second album he released since signing with the label in 2017 and it is packed with fantastic features.
We are expecting nothing but greatness, so, let’s start it off.
BLACK OUT
We start off with the track ‘BLACK OUT’, this intro is overwhelming, the mix of beats is immersive and an absolute trip for listeners. Running for four minutes this song will have you feeling as if you are floating in space, and I absolutely dig it.
‘R.I.P.’ changes the mood with killer rapping, flow and delivery. This track is rooted in old school hip hop. It feels at times like a cypher or a track you could listen to in underground hip hop scenes, with a raw sound and rhyming.
The track ‘USED TO’ featuring CIFIKA was pre-released a week ago, the music video for this track features artists such as Code Kunst and Mokyo. The concept of this MV was fantastic and super creative. The track itself has more chill beats, including guitar, lofi tunes and piano. CIFIKA’s vocals were stunning as usual and were a lovely addition to an already super cool song.
So!YoON! Is featured in ‘Do Not Disturb’ and her mellow and very melodic vocals begin the song and set the full mood of this track. Woo’s slightly auto tuned vocals follow with a smooth delivery and lazy rapping style. This song is extremely appropriate for a rainy day at home with a cup of cocoa. It just has the right feel for it.
Featuring Jvcki Wai and SIMO of Y2K92 ‘Chik Chik Pok Pok Freestyle’ plays, as expected by just the title this song goes hard and has a crazy, but super cool layering. The rapping is killer and Jvcki’s vocals aren’t as autotuned as expected, it is overall a really cool track.
The title track ‘JOB’ featuring Tiger JK and Qim Isle is next. This track is nothing but great music from every angle. As expected the delivery was fire and it reminded me a lot of the producer cyphers from SMTM. The music video of this track is not the conventional MV but I love how creative and cool it is. ‘Chingiz Khan’ follows with electronic beats, synth, and a tempo that perfectly matches Woo’s delivery in this track.
‘CANADA’ is next with a mixing and track that somehow feels nostalgic. I found the lyrical flow emotional, the back vocal hitting the high notes in some parts of the track was an interesting addition but what surprised me the most was the electric guitar and the piano mix and how this track became instrumental towards the end.
We close the album with ‘FEVER’ featuring sogumm, and what a way to end this album. This song is insane, it felt as if different elements of the songs in this album were mixed into this one track and it just worked so well. Absolute killer.
