The girlies from tripleS are back with their latest mini-album ‘<LOVE&POP> Pt.1’. Let’s dive right in!
The first track is ‘Sad girls schemin” which is a lovely electro pop track. I love the synths and the drive of this track. “It is a chaotic expression of emotion where sad girls gather to share secrets, but the background music is so upbeat that, far from worrying, the atmosphere suddenly shifts to one of dancing and playing together.”
‘Peer’ is a stunning interlude with such a magical combination of synths, piano and vocals.
Next up is the title track ‘Baby Flower’. I absolutely love this title track, it is such a nice listen. It’s well put together, has a beautiful vocal line – like hello, that high note?! – and fits their tripleS trademark sound perfectly.
According to the album description: “Baby Flower” conveys a message to girls experiencing growing pains: “You aren’t alone; we are all the same, so let’s bloom like flowers now.”
We’re going Tropical House with ‘Type of Girl’. This was a really cool listen and I enjoyed the rap verses. Honestly, blast it through the speakers!
‘Sleek’ makes you treasure your individuality and tells you to break the mold. The chorus feels so chic! I’d be super curious to hear a club remix of this.
‘I Like That’ brings in the groove with a cool bass line. I really enjoyed the vocal line in the birdge, that was dope.
The closing track of this comeback is ‘Me Myself Mode’. I enjoyed this part of the album description: “It is not a song about becoming like someone else, but a track that records, in the most brilliant way, the moments of continuously discovering a new ‘me,’ even if it is not yet complete.”
