[Review] LUCY – Childish

The boys from LUCY are back with their latest album ‘Childish’. Let’s take a closer look at this release.

Childish

The album consists of some previous released tracks, though this time it includes the vocals of member Shin Kwang-il on two of the tracks. There are also new singles on the album.

‘Sprout’ starts the album off strong with an Irish twist. We’re getting a fantasy feeling with the flute, and the mandolin. The melody on this is absolutely stunning. The chorus gave me goosebumps. The choir was a lovely addition. How stunning!

Next up comes the title track ‘All Ages’. This is a beautiful pop rock track with an insane bridge that I can only imagine will be magical during live performances if the audiences sings along.

‘Chameleon’ brings the groove along with a killer bass line. This was a super dope listen, well executed and beyond rad with the bass tapping. They really hit next level with this one.

With ‘Porch light’ they create a smaller ambience. It “contains a drowsy and warm sound centered on the laid-back line of the ukulele and guitar.
English lyrics are added on top of the warm vocals with sensuous sounds, indirectly capturing emotions, leaving room for natural recollection of individual experiences.”

‘Blah-blah-blah’ talks about unrequited love and the overload of emotions you feel. It’s a soft pop rock moment that feels light and cheerful.
