The boys from DKB are back with their second EP ‘LOVE’. We are stoked because their debut completely blew us away! If you want to read about their EP ‘Youth’, you can click here. Let’s dive in!
LOVE
The first track on ‘LOVE’ is the title track ‘Still’. It’s a different vibe than their previous title track ‘Sorry Mama’. It’s a lot softer Though the rap line does bring some fire back. However, I think it was a good idea to choose ‘Still’ as their title track to show their different sides. It is catchy as hell and I’m in love with the 90s feel of it.
Here’s the video:
The second track is ‘Tell‘em Boys’ and it starts off really happy with the cheerful synths. It’s an upbeat summer track and the perfect song to dance to at a party. I also really like the drum sample they used here, it reminds me of a marching band.
‘Fondue’ is up next. It’s got some disco vibes and I’m 100% here for it. The synths are incredible and fun! The lyrics were written by three of the members, E-Chan, D1 and Junseo.
The fourth new song is ‘Curious’ and it starts with some interesting autotune. It’s more rap heavy than the previous releases but I’m here for it since it reminds me of their first EP. The chorus has some really cool vocals and honestly, I feel like this group will take it far. The lyrics were written completely by the members again, this time E-Chan, D1, GK and Teo joined forces.
The last track is ‘Rose’. It’s a track that jumps from being really intense with the rap line to almost ballad like when the vocal line takes over. The chorus is really cool and there’s a lot happening in the instrumentation of the chorus and post-chorus that makes this song very dynamic. The build-up to the chorus is really interesting.
Overall
‘LOVE’ is a really solid EP by DKB. It’s quite different from their debut but it shows their different, somewhat softer side. It’s a really enjoyable listen with some amazing vocals and fire rap sections.
It’s not on Spotify yet, but here’s their Artist profile so keep an eye out.
