[Review] Doh Kyung Soo – BLISS

Doh Kyung Soo is back with his first solo full-length album ‘BLISS’. We’re super stoked as his music has always been brilliant. Let’s take a closer look at this comeback!

BLISS

We start off with ‘Nobody Knows It’. We’re going for a Bossa Nova moment, which I love. His vocals fit this genre so well! It “contains the message of taking a break from our busy daily lives and spending a leisurely day just for ourselves.”

He’s bringing out the energy with ‘Do you remember?’ I genuinely love this track. It’s a pop number with a lot of power and energy behind it. It’s one to shout along to in your bedroom. The vocal layering in the little bridge section was superb.

We’re going for smooth R&B with ‘Fit’ which describes love at first sight. It’s super smooth, I enjoyed the beat and the vocal sample in the background. The lyrics were co-written by Penomeco and Damian.

Talk about a feel good somg with the title track ‘SING ALONG!’ It’s joyful, playful and is bound to get a grin on your face and get a shimmy in your shoulders.

This track was written by ZICO and D.O himself.

‘5 Minutes’ comes out with a mid-tempo tropical house track. This was honestly a super cool listen. I enjoyed the synths and the overall progression. It’s a very laidback track.

‘I’ll be there’ brings out the acoustic guitar and introduces us to Ballad Town. This is super lovely and sweet, a promise of Kyung Soo to always be by your side. The vocals in the outro were insane, I love it.

Next up is ‘Draw my path’. It talks about having the will to live life fully as yourself. I really enjoyed the clapping in the instrumentation, it kind of feels like we’re all there together cheering eachother on.

‘Where You Were’ gives us some cozy folk pop. I love the intimate vibe and the softness of it all. It “tells the story of how the moments that have passed still remain warmly deep in the heart.”

‘IN ANOTHER LIFE’ is a fan song with his love and gratitude for the fans who’ve been by his side. It’s a beautiful ballad with a heartwarming message.

We’re closing off with ‘Love to Love U’. I’m kind of obsessed with the retro voice note at the beginning. It’s a jazzy, retro moment that honestly would be an amazing first dance at a wedding. This is beyond lovely, it’s a track to treasure.
