n.CH Entertainment just debuted their new boy group TOO (Ten Oriented Orchestra) with their first mini album ‘Reason For Being’. We love discovering new groups and this one is no exception, so let’s start this off.
‘Reason For Being’
‘Magnolia’ starts this mini album and it is also the title track for this release. This rookie group is starting off strong having with such a hip hop and trap driven track. The rhythm, vocals and beat changes are amazing! I loved how the bridge of the song was built up, that high note right in the middle was unexpected but absolutely incredible. Check out the music video because it is a fantastic production too.
‘Take It Slow’ is next with a funky and way more playful vibe. This full song feels like a happy and romantic tune as soon as it starts. I loved the vocals and rapping in it and the harmonization of the members for some parts is super wholesome.
Third on the tracklist is ‘Don’t Fear Now’, this song is quite different from the previous two. The rap-line has way more presence in this song than in ‘Magnolia’ and ‘Take It Slow’ and I’m here for it. I completely loved the balance of vocals in the full track and the flow of it.
‘Everything’s Gonna Be Alright’ is next and it starts off the emotional whiplash I’d been expecting. This R&B ballad shows off the vocal line at its best. It is super soft and I loved how the members’ vocals were layered. The rap-line did an incredible job delivering the lyrics in the song. And overall, listening to this song feels like a warm hug on a cold day.
Last in this mini album is ‘You Can’t Hurry Love’, and what a way to close a debut EP. This song was originally released in 1966 by The Supremes but TOO gave their special touch to this cover and I loved it. The inclusion of the trumpets throughout the song made it way more playful. They managed to add elements of modern pop with the rhythm and flow of the original version and it is just incredible.
This debut mini album is strong and diverse, I personally feel that we will be listening to more from this rookie group and I couldn’t be more excited about it. In the meanwhile, listen to this release below.
