[Review] POW – Boyfriend

The boys from POW are back with their mini-album ‘Boyfriend’. Let’s dig in!

Boyfriend

We start off with their title track ‘Boyfriend‘. This is a remake of Avril Lavigne’s ‘Girlfriend’ and I suddenly feel really old if they’re remaking tracks from my youth.

This is a really fun pop rock track and the chorus still slaps as much as when I first heard Avril’s version.

Next up is ‘I’. This mixes R&B with a marimba melody line and it works. It’s a cool listen that is designed to kill your car radio. What a cool listen. The layering in this one is super interesting.

‘Bae’ is a blend of R&B and pop and boasts a really fun synth line. This is just a really sweet song.

The closing track is their pre-released ‘Sunset’.
