[Review] ITZY – GOLD

Our girlies from ITZY are back with their latest mini-album ‘GOLD’. Let’s take a closer look!

GOLD

We start off with the first title track ‘GOLD’. We’re going for a rock moment with grungy instrumentals while also incorporating a Hip-Hop sound. The groove is unmistakable and I’m loving the power of this track.

The music video is fun and portrays ITZY as absolutely golden. It’s dope!

The second title track is ‘Imaginary Friend’. This one brings us a pop dance moment with beautiful harmonies. The pre-chorus is really pretty and the chorus begs to be blasted from the speakers. This is one stunning listen.

‘Bad Girls R Us’ comes next and delivers a fun dance track with house beats and a surprising country guitar. The instrumentals are really well done and I’m loving this vibe. Add this to your female empowerment playlists.

After that comes ‘Supernatural’. They’re going for an energetic pop dance song with really fun synths. I enjoyed the tempo and the sharpness of the synths. The vocals were great and I liked the little parts with the distortion.

FIVE’ comes along with its dance pop. According to the album description this is from the Miami Bass genre. I liked the difference in energy with the chorus and the post chorus part. The rap verses were a lot of fun to listen to.

After that comes ‘VAY’ featuring Changbin of Stray Kids. Changbin is credited as the sole lyricist and he also co-composed the track. This is a Hip-Hop track with very crunchy synths and overall strong instrumentals. I really enjoyed the different rap sections. The chorus was great and shows a lot of energy.

The following tracks: ‘Born to be’, ‘untouchable’, ‘Mr. Vampire’, ‘Dynamite’ and ‘Escalator’ are included as ‘final versions.’
