[Review] NCT WISH – STEADY

The youngest NEOS have finally released their first Korean mini-album, ‘STEADY’. This release includes the pre-release track ‘Dunk Shot’ and the Korean version of their Japanese debut single ‘Hands Up’. As an excited NCTzen, let’s dive into the music and see what the youngest unit has prepared!

Steady

The title track ‘Steady’ kicks off the album with a lovely house music mix infused with UK garage vibes. Musically, it’s a total bop, delivering the alternative vibe that makes Neocity stand out. The song is divided into sections that show off the members’ cool rapping and fantastic harmonies, creating an energetic and charming listen. The music video complements the track perfectly, featuring the youngest Neos in a magical school setting, overflowing with cuteness. Check it below.

On a hyper-pop note, ‘3 Minutes’ follows with pure cheerfulness. Its tempo changes and vibey sectioning make it an exciting, upbeat track. The pre-release single ‘Dunk Shot’ keeps the energy up with its hip-hop-driven tempo and smooth vocals.

Next up is ‘On & On’, bringing a delicate R&B touch to the mini-album. This track highlights the unit’s smooth style, with beautifully layered vocals and an arrangement that is everything we’d expect from an NCT unit. It’s a soft, gorgeous listen.

‘Supercute’ is exactly what its title suggests—a vibey, laid-back pop single. The song’s flow is chill, with flawless vocals and ad-libs that create a refreshing, cool sound.

We near the end with ‘Skate’, an alt-pop track with a cool, laid-back rap style, harmonies in the chorus, and an iconic bridge that elevate the song even more. Chef’s Kiss.

The mini-album closes with the Korean version of ‘Hands Up’, wrapping up this much-anticipated release perfectly.
