[Review] Lee Seunghoon – MY TYPE

WINNER’s Lee Seunghoon has finally made his solo debut with the EP ‘MY TYPE’. As a dedicated member of Innercircle, this is a release we’ve eagerly anticipated since his solo track on WINNER’s 2019 EP ‘CROSS’. Let’s dive into the music and see how HOONY’s charismatic personality translates into his solo work!

MY TYPE

The title track, ‘MY TYPE’, kicks off the EP with funky instrumentals and smooth singing. The transitions between vocals and rapping are seamless, full of groove, and infused with a fantastic touch of old-school funk. This track is an easy listen, melting effortlessly into your ears. While the official music video is yet to be released, he has dropped a story film where his charisma, visuals, and outstanding performing skills are on full display. Watch it below.

Next up is ‘Thinkin’ Bad Things’, which features a rhythmic guitar riff that sets the tone for a more mature and sexy side of HOONY. The song includes great layering and a catchy rhythm that sticks with you.

On a more playful note, ‘Do Re Mi Fa Sol’ takes over with a delightful tempo and a cute concept. This track flawlessly blends hip-hop with piano instrumentals, creating a sweet, fun, and magical sound.

The EP concludes with ‘BROTHER & SISTER’, a track reminiscent of his solo work on ‘CROSS’. It’s rich with Latin rhythms, featuring a fantastic acoustic guitar and an infectious tempo that makes you want to dance. It’s a perfect, epic end to a fantastic debut mini-album.

As expected, HOONY did not disappoint. Make sure to listen to this non-skip EP and experience the charisma and versatility of Lee Seunghoon!
