[Review] KIM JAE HWAN – Empty Dream

Kim Jae Hwan just released his fifth mini-album ‘Empty Dream‘. It has been nine months since his last released, and many fans were looking forward to listen to his magical and charming music.

Let’s get right into it, and listen to the track he prepared for the fans.

Empty Dream

Beginning with ‘ANSWER ME‘, this release starts with a R&B and lo-fi mix. This single is such a smooth start, and his singing absolutely out of this world. I loved how despite the chill beats, his lyrics delivery makes this single rather emotional. It is a total trip and a very solid start.

Moving on we get right into the title track ‘BACK THEN‘, with a rock/pop track and plenty of style. The band in this single is just cool, and the mix of instrumentation with EDM made this full single an interesting listen. The angsty feel in it is awesome and it gets better with the visuals in the music video.

Make sure to watch it below.

OUT OF LINE‘ takes over with a dreamy synth and an acoustic band that will make you go right into your feels. This single has a solid OST drama style, definitely and stunning listen with power vocals and amazing high notes.

With a mix of pop, reggae and even a touch of moombahton, ‘OASIS‘ plays. Just the mix makes this song amazing, and I loved the vibes in this single, it is dramatic but playful at the same time. Definitely an unexpected mix but it works amazingly.

A very charming and lovely piano riff starts off ‘LOVE STRIKE‘, get ready to fall in love with this single and Jae-Hwan’s singing, this single is a refreshing and fun listen. Last of this EP we get the pop ballad ‘GOODBYE MORNING‘ ending it on a melancholic and very soft style. This single is to enjoy emotional vocals and acoustic instrumentation. Absolutely beautiful.

Kim Jae Hwan really shows off his talent in this EP ‘Empty Dream’, listeners get to listen his voice changing and adapting to different genres in a flawless manner, and fans get a bit of every mood in one single release.
