There’s a new girl group in town with SAY MY NAME. They released their debut mini-album today. The group consists of Honda Hitomi, Dohee, KANNY, May, Junhwi, Soha, and Seungju.
SAY MY NAME
The EP starts off with ‘Be a star’. Hitomi has writing credits on this one. The pop ballad has really warm acoustic guitars in the instrumentals, a solid build-up and solid vocals. It’s surprising that they start off their debut mini with a ballad, but it does allow you to discover all their stunning vocals.
‘WaveWay‘ is the title track and brings back the bubblegum pop I love. The song is kitschy, very bouncy with the instrumentals and even has a kitten’s miaow. I really enjoyed this!
‘8llow me‘ comes after with a rock moment. It’s a cheerful and fun moment. It’s giving me anime opening energy and I’m fully on board for that.
The closing track is ‘Goldilocks Water‘ which starts with an acapella moment which was super refreshing! Now I’m kind of wanting a fully acoustic version. This is such a perfect song for an end-of-concert track. I’m adding this to my playlist, because I really enjoyed this.
