The boys from ONEWE are back with their latest mini-album ‘MAZE: AD ASTRA’. We’re super stoked, because we’re expecting top quality bops. Let’s dive right in!
MAZE: AD ASTRA
We start off with the track ‘Lucky 12’. This is a fantastic rock ballad with insane vocals (hello falsetto!). I love the progression and the message that hard times pass and we’ll reach the moon together is just so pretty.
After that comes the title track ‘MAZE’. We get another beautiful message: “that although the path of wandering in human relationships is like a maze, the process itself was ultimately meaningful.”
It’s a great alternative rock track with a dash of funk jazz with incredibly well done layering. The bass and electric guitar solo ATE.
‘UFO’ was a very surprising track to me. This is very psychedelic funk with cool synths and solid vocals. It felt very fresh in the line-up. I dig it.
‘Hide & Seek’ is a very dramatic punk rock ballad. It’s hella cool and the chorus is a total earworm. I’m transported back to the early 2000s to my angst filled days.
Next up are ‘Trace’ and ‘Diary’. They’re two beautiful rock ballads. ‘Trace’ feels very melancholic’ while ‘Diary’ feels like a confessional. Stunning!
The closing track is ‘Beyond The Storm’. The harmonies together with the strings are honestly amazing. This feels so uplifting!
