[Review] IRENE – Biggest Fan

Our girl IRENE is back with her first full-length solo album ‘Biggest Fan’. Let’s dive right in!

Biggest Fan

We start off with the title track ‘Biggest Fan’. We’re getting a fun Dance Pop track catchy lyrics that “playfully portray a bold attitude that it is okay to freely express being a fan, and add the meaning of becoming fans to one another.”

‘Best Believe’ is an R&B pop track with laidback synths and great vocals. I enjoyed the soft progression, though I do wish they had gone a bit more explosive in the bridge.

Next up is ‘Don’t wanna get up’. We’re going for a “house-based electro-pop track”. This was a super chill listen.

We’re going more intense with ‘Face to Face’. This R&B pop number has dreamy synths and honestly a killer layering. This feels dramatic and tells of “a serene resonance by capturing the process of facing one’s various faces and acknowledging and accepting oneself as one is, rather than trying to change one’s appearance.”

Bring in the retro vibes with ‘Million Miles Away’. It’s a pop dance moment with groovy, retro synths and a super catchy hook, I particularly enjoyed the build-up towards the chorus.

‘Love can make a way’ gives us a more emotional moment with its pop band sound and gentle and comforting lyrics. It’s a lovely listen!

After that comes ‘SPIT IT OUT’. It’s a pop dance number that created a big soundscape with its various strings, combined together with the synths.

‘Black Halo’ creates a thrilling moment with its dark mood. This is giving evil queen boss scene. It’s dope. The vocals here are so interesting to listen to!

‘MTV (My Timless Video)’ delivers a warm pop scene with touching lyrics. “The lyrics recall memories of the time spent with fans, capturing the moment of reliving and feeling those joyful times again, and convey a meaningful and sincere heart to continue the precious relationship with fans unchanged in the future.”

The closing track is ‘Wasteland’. We’re going for dreamy synths and an even dreamier ambience.
