E’LAST is back with a new mini-album ‘ROAR’. It has been a while since their last release and we are excited to listen to what this group has prepared for their fans.
‘ROAR‘ includes six new tracks and an intro that by its length could be a full on single.
ROAR
‘INTRO‘ starts off this release and be ready to be transported to you own cinematic story with its breath-taking orchestration. This track has some movie’s main theme vibes that even includes opera singer. Be the main character with this epic intro and get immersed into its incredible sound.
We go to the title track ‘Creature‘ with EDM beats and an amazing use of silence breaks. This single goes back and forth between electronic music and instrumentals. The style is just fantastic and keeps the listeners on their toes trying to figure out what is next.
For the MV we get a mystic storyline with powerful aesthetics and a flawless style. They really went off to create a mini-movie with this production and I have to say all the members look super good, and the dark and mysterious concept is perfect for them. Check it below.
With a smooth R&B style and powerful vocals ‘Poison‘ takes over and I loved it grooviness and rather sexy style. This single is a total bop! It’s one of my favourite b-sides from E’LAST.
A new worldview
Following the same vibe we get ‘Desire‘, I particularly loved the flow of the rap-line in this track and the amazing harmonisations. The bridge in this track is the highlight for me, the gasp at the end totally caught me off guard but at the same time with the speed of it was the perfect end. This song is a total rollercoaster.
Emotional backlash comes along with ‘Shelter‘ and its beautiful instrumentation. The acoustics of this track are seriously something else, this song is just so powerful and so well balanced, a total musical experience for those who love orchestras. Tthe outro with the choir was something else.
‘Let me free‘ continues on with the emotional acoustics but this time with a ballad style. The melodic rapping and emotional singing in this song are an arrow to the heart, stunning to listen to.
Closing this amazing EP we get the single ‘Nightmare‘, this song is unexpected for the last song in a release. It really goes hard with its composition and power vocals, and it definitely closes this mini-album on a high note.
E’LAST made us wait for a bit but really delivered a sensational mini-album with ‘ROAR’, make sure to listen to this release here.
As a classical music enthusiast as well a Kpop fan I agree the orchestral quality of the Intro in particular is excellent. In parts it is reminiscent of Carmina Burana. Moving into the title track Creature, I love the narrative style and although the instrumentation is quite intense the vocals are not overwhelmed. My personal favourite is Shelter. For me the clear and resonant vocals echoing each other interspersed with the lyrical rap create a perfect harmony and synergy.
