[Review] Crazy Love

We are back with a new K-drama review, and this time we are talking about a very underrated rom-com, with an amazing cast and a lot of sas! Let’s talk about the 2022 production ‘Crazy Love’.

Written by Kim Bo-gyeom and directed by Kim Jung-hyun, ‘Crazy Love’ falls into one of the most favourite drama tropes: enemies to lovers.

The Plot

Noh Go-jin (Kim Jae-wook) is the CEO of the biggest tutoring companies. He is very famous for his high IQ and looks, however, he is also heavily disliked for his awful personality. It has led several people who were involved with him in the past to send him death threats and even sabotage his day to day life.

Lee Shin-ah (Krystal Jung) is Go-jin’s latest secretary, she has put up for a year with his awful personality and behaviour, having just one thought in mind, being able to become a tutor in the company.

After a quick check up Shin-ah finds out that she has very little time to live, and she firmly believes that part of her illness was caused by the stress she went through as Go-jin’s secretary.

She decides to seek revenge, but after she finally gets her revenge, she finds out that Go-jin was in an accident, and she ends up looking after him and pretending to be his fiance.

Shin-ah does everything she can to make Go-jin’s life miserable after finding out he has amnesia, but a lot of surprises come along her way and they both end up being closer than intended.

Becoming a better person

Crazy Love’ is a drama that definitely took me by surprise. It had its funny moments, but also had a thrilling aspect. Throughout the full drama Go-jing tries to put pieces together and find out who is behind all the incidents that happened to him.

As he and Shin-ah become closer he starts to be a better person, or at least trying to be one. However, he still has a prickly personality but his character development is quite good.

Shin-ah from her side is a dreamer, who just wants to do what she loves, she really cares for her family and she shows this throughout the drama.

All the characters in ‘Crazy Love’ go through personal development and growth. A lot of them had iffy personalities but by the end of the show they really become a better version of themselves, including the leads.

Final thoughts

After seeing the cast and the drama I was quite surprised as to why the drama wasn’t as popular as other rom-coms, it is definitely an enjoyable and fun watch, the characters are well rounded and the acting is fantastic.

Crazy Love’ is a totally easy watch, it is available on Disney+, check out the trailer below.
