In this week’s R&B Gem we are sharing an indie R&B artist with an impeccable sound and a smooth vibe. Let’s talk about Jaguaa.
Park Junyoung (aka. Jaguaa) debuted in 2018 under Luminant Entertainment with the single ‘Summer Blessing’.
Before his official debut he already had a couple of singles in his Soundcloud, ‘Fantasies’ and ‘Captivated’ show two completely different sounds and style. The former is rather raw and emotional, and the second one, more of a vibe to enjoy and jam to.
Emotions through lyrics
‘Ghost Serenade’ followed up his debut single in 2019, this song had as a concept “Words from the perspective of the dead”, narrating through its lyrics words that were never said but were felt. This song is super soft and beautiful, listen to it below.
His first single album ‘Surging Memories’ was released next, with the title song ‘Seaside Farewell’.
For his following release, he teamed up with the indie artist mnzy. ‘U Go Ahh’ was released in early 2020. This song has some very sensual and seductive lyrics, that get even more emphasised with the breathy vocalisation. A VIBE.
With his next single ‘Better’, he went off with a dance track with a super cool tempo. This song has a similar vibe to his early single ‘Captivated’. The perfect jamming song!
