In this edition of Rapper In The Spotlight, we are delving into the career of a rising artist who has been on our radar for a while. Let’s talk about Taeb2’s journey.
Kim Eui-Joon, known as Taeb2, began making waves in the Korean hip-hop scene with his early tracks on SoundCloud. At just 19 years old, he made his official debut in 2019 with the independently released EP ‘Blue: That’s me be.’ This project is described as highlighting “vivid and pure emotions that bring to mind the color blue, songs about attitudes toward life and the things you like, and love songs sung with the emotions of a 19-year-old” (Source: Melon)
Following his debut, Taeb2 collaborated with KozyPop, a well-known channel in the Hip-Hop and R&B scene, to release singles characterized by lo-fi beats.
In 2021, Taeb2 returned with the single ‘Same night every day.’ This productive year also saw the release of several other singles, including a remix of his debut title song ‘Blue’ featuring Lokid, Saebyul, Tamiz, V.et, and Ohmygenia, as well as ‘A letter heard’ and ‘When I have hard time.’
