In this edition of Rapper in the Spotlight, we’re highlighting the career of an underground indie rapper who has been shaping his sound since 2014. Let’s dive into Odee’s journey.
Oh Dong-ho, better known as Odee, officially debuted in 2014 under VMC with the self-titled single album ‘ODEE’, featuring DJ Kendrickx. From the start, his tone and delivery reflected a raw, underground sensibility that would become his signature.
That same year, he appeared on Show Me The Money 3. Although he didn’t pass the preliminary round, the experience marked one of his first steps into the wider hip-hop spotlight.
Building His Discography
In 2016, Odee returned with the EP ‘SLY’, a project deeply rooted in old-school hip-hop aesthetics. The release featured respected names such as Nucksal and Don Mills, reinforcing his credibility within the underground scene.
From 2017 to 2019, Odee steadily released singles including ‘John Doe’, ‘inter-floor noise’, and the single album ‘ZIPLOC’. During this period, he once again tested himself on Show Me The Money, participating in Season 6 and later in the 777 edition in 2018.
In 2019, he released his second EP, ‘VS’, a collaborative project with QM. The chemistry between the two artists stood out immediately. The EP showcased a more experimental side of Odee, blending his low-toned rap flow with dynamic and effortlessly cool production.
Expanding His Sound
His third EP, ‘SCUMBAG’ (2020), maintained his gritty core while elevating the overall vibe with stronger production and standout features. That same year, he also dropped ‘BATON TOUCH’, continuing his consistent output.
In 2022, Odee returned with ‘SCUMBAG SEASON’, featuring Oygli and Blase. The project felt like a natural continuation of his 2020 work, pushing experimentation slightly further while preserving his underground essence.
The following year, he reunited with QM for ‘VS2’, proving that their collaborative synergy remained as sharp as ever.
Latest Releases
In 2025, Odee reached a major milestone with his first full-length album, ‘FLOAT’. Arguably one of his strongest works to date, the album showcased remarkable growth in sound, style, and production quality. While elevated and polished, it still carried the underground DNA that defines him.
He followed it up with the trendy and vibey single album ‘100 PRoof’.
Most recently, he released the single album ‘VEHICLES’, featuring two tracks driven by a smooth, confident flow that makes for an effortlessly cool listen.
Odee’s musical evolution has been nothing short of impressive. Over the years, he has refined his craft while staying true to his underground roots. If you appreciate artists who grow without losing their identity, Odee is one to keep on your radar.
