[Patreon Exclusive Review] It’s okay to be sensitive 2

Today’s Patreon Exclusive Review is about the web drama ‘It’s okay to be sensitive 2’. It’s the second season of the show and aired in 2019.

Plot

The story is about three interns who have to navigate the workfloor with rampant sexism and abuse of power.

It definitely puts the spotlight on some of the gender discrimination women come across whether it’s for missed promotions or spycams or offhand comments.

It’s something that is still very much a reality for most if not all women. This is a great way of showing it to everyone. They even have little flashcards with animations. It’s kind of adorable while at the same time a bit on the nose.

The ten episodes of each 14 minutes felt very breezy and fast despite the heavy topics. I think the writer Choi Sun Mi went for a good balance between preachy and just wanting to show what the daily struggles are for women on the workfloor.

Cast

We have a relatively small cast. There is Yoo Hye In as Bit Na, Jung Hye-Rin as Bo Young and Kim Min-Seo as Gang Yoon Joo. The three girls, all very different from one another have been friends for a long time and decide to intern at the same company so they can spend time together while also progressing in their career. Friendship goals.

The last main role is for Lee Shin Young who plays Seo Min Jun. He’s a permanent employee and guides the girls while also falling in love. To be honest, I love his role though I’m still a bit iffy about romance on the workfloor. Also the fact that he’s in such a different position in the hierarchy than Bit Na, kind of gives me the creeps. However, his role is so adorable and kind and would never abuse his power like that. The thing is, you never know that for sure until something bad happens. So yeah, I understand why they need a romantic plot (or do they?) but I wish they had changed this up a bit.

Eric Nam even wrote a soundtrack for it! Honestly, he’s a king.

The joy of ‘It’s okay to be sensitive 2’ is the fact that the entire thing is on YouTube so it’s free of charge and it’s subtitled. The entire thing, from episode 1 to 10, you can watch here.
