In this edition of Label Deep Dive, we’re spotlighting KC, an independent hip-hop label that, despite being founded over a decade ago, only became fully active in 2023. Let’s dive in!
The Origins of KC
KC was originally established by rapper Sik-K in 2006. After a period of inactivity, the label was renewed in 2017, but it wasn’t until May 2023—following Sik-K’s departure from H1GHR MUSIC in 2022—that KC officially launched as an independent agency.
Artists Under KC
The first artist to sign under KC was HAON in 2023. Soon after, he teamed up with Sik-K for the release of ‘ALBUM ON THE WAY!’, marking the label’s first major project.
HAON later made his solo debut under the label with the single ‘Over You’, released in late 2023.
The next artist to join KC was producer Vangdale. His first release under the label was the collaborative album ‘KCTAPE, Vol.1’, featuring Sik-K and HAON.
This was followed by ‘KCTAPE, Vol.2’, another collaborative album featuring big names like Tabber and Leellamarz.
The latest addition to the KC roster is JMIN, who signed an exclusive contract in December 2024. To commemorate his signing, he dropped the single ‘ROUND ONE’ featuring HAON.
With a solid lineup of artists and producers, KC is quickly making a name for itself in the Korean hip-hop scene. From established names to rising stars, the label is proving to be a powerhouse of talent and creativity.
