‘All Time High Tour’ is Epik High’s latest world tour, their last stop in the European leg of the tour was in Frankfurt, Germany, we managed to get a hold of the ticket and went to their gig at Zoom on February, 15th.
The anticipation for this concert was quite insane, if you have been reading this blog for a while, you may already know how much we love this trio consisting of Minthra, Dj. Tukutz and Tablo. They are one of the OGs when it comes to Korean Hip-Hop, and we are absolutely in love with their discography.
Set to start at 8PM, this trio took the stage a bit past the time, but nevertheless the vibes at the venue peaked, and everyone was enjoying themselves while waiting for them.
The gig started with the first track of their latest release, ‘Strawberry’ totally increased the hype of the audience, but everything got elevated when ‘On My Way’ played next.
In an unexpected twist and a blessing for the OG fans, the next single in line was ‘Fly’ from their 2005 album ‘Swan Songs’; and the throwback continued with the single ‘Map The Soul’.
‘Acceptance Speech’ followed up and also ended the first set of the concert. Once the intro set ended we moved on to the usual introductions and interaction with the audience, I have to say that the way Epik High interacts with fans is amazing, it might have been because of the size of the venue, but it all felt as if we all were long time friends and shared stories.
The audience had an amazing time listening to their introductions, and Tablo talking about Haribo (German Gummies) being his favourite snack, and also believing this was native from the city. The audience, of course, told him otherwise, and this moment became a funny, cute and very wholesome interaction that kept the energy of the concert going, and prepared fans for the next set.
‘‘Frankfurt is opinionated’’ – Tablo
The next set of the concert started with ‘Rosario’, and the audience joined this track singing the chorus, with energies peaking ‘BURJ KHALIFA’ took over and for this one we were left us mind-blown with Tablo’s and Minthra’s rap speed, flow and passionate delivery.
‘NO THANXXX’, and ‘All Day’ moved the concert along and kept the high energies flowing, to then move to a more nostalgic note with the singles to come. ‘EYE NOSE LIPS’, ‘Rain Song’ and ’One Minute, One Second, A little Memory’.
Hype songs came next starting with ‘One’, ‘Born Hater’ and ‘DON’T HATE ME’ to then move along to the last part of the concert. THE ENCORE.
After briefly leaving the stage, Epik High came back for the encore and played the songs ‘Catch’, ‘Kill This Love’ and closed the night with ‘New Beautiful’.
This concert really closed on a high note, this trio delivered an unforgettable evening with a mix of songs for the OG and the new fans. It was definitely one unforgettable night.
