IZ*ONE just released their first full-length album ‘BLOOM*IZ’. The twelve girls have had a rough couple of months, but we’re here to support talent. Also I’ve been a fan since the bop ‘La Vie En Rose’, so let’s dive right in!
‘BLOOM*IZ’
The opener of the album is ‘EYES’. A really lovely song but what sold it for me was the catchy ‘Eyes On Me’ lyric that stunned me for a second, but I’m totally on board. I also really like the chorus, vocals coming through.
‘FIESTA’ follows ‘EYES’ and dear god, look at the MV. It’s absolutely stunning. The song is a total bop and I’m adding this to every playlist I own.
The third track is ‘DREAMLIKE’. The song is exactly like the title promises. It’s a summer vibes synthpop dream and I’m totally digging the bridge. It’s so soft.
‘AYAYAYA’ is up next. Whew, I’m kind of shook. There’s whistling, there’s a drop I didn’t expect and the instrumentals are really cool! Everytime the chorus shows up I was like ‘YASSSS’.
The layered chorus of ‘SO CURIOUS’ is really dope. This definitely falls under the term ‘Bubblegum Pop’, it’s a happy-go-lucky song. Catch me in an all black outfit, looking hella serious, while my headphones are playing this track.
After ‘SO CURIOUS’ we enter the ‘SPACESHIP’. This song is super fast paced, I almost couldn’t keep up. The choreo for this is adorable.
‘DESTINY’ starts immediately with sweeping violins. I assumed it was going to be a slow ballad, but there’s still a lot of power and some fast pacing in the chorus. I kind of want to hear an acoustic version of this.
‘YOU & I’, this is the kind of style I expected ‘DESTINY’ to sound like. It’s a beautiful ballad that puts their stunning vocals on the center stage. Hello harmonies ❤.
Alright, I totally got musical whiplash when I went from ‘You & I’ to ‘DAYDREAM’. A funky beat with some groovy electric guitar, and I’m 100% on board. This song is legit amazing and it goes to all these places you don’t necessarily expect it to. I love musical surprises.
‘PINK BLUSHER’ is the cutest earworm of a song. It’s so ADORABLE.
‘SOMEDAY’ is another soft ballad along the style of ‘You & I’. I’m sensing an OST subunit.
The last song of the album is ‘OPEN YOUR EYES’. An amazing bop to close off. The instrumentation is hella dope and the vocals just add another layer of magic.
Overall
‘BLOOM*IZ’ is a really, really great album by IZ*ONE. There’s something for everyone and I’m sure it wasn’t the intention of the song, but ‘OPEN YOUR EYES’ to talent y’all.
