We’re back with a new Actor Spotlight, this time we’re focussing on the wonder Kang Han-Na.
Kang Han-Na is a Korean actress who’s been in the industry since 2009. She started off in the independent films ‘Last Homecoming’ and ‘King of Guitar’.
Start
In 2013 she started picking up small roles in both films and dramas. Most notable was her role in ‘Miss Korea’ where she played a contestant.
A couple of years later, she snagged a major role in the film ‘Empire of Lust’ where she portrayed the role of Ka-hee, a gisaeng; a trained courtesan.
Breakout Role
Her biggest rise in popularity came after her performance in ‘Scarlet Heart Ryeo’. She was nominated for Best New Actress for the 53rd Baeksang Awards.
After that she picked up roles in popular dramas like ‘Just Between Lovers’, ‘Familiar Wife’ and ‘Designated Survivor: 60 Days’.
She also played a drama award host in ‘Record of Youth’.
Most recently she had an incredible role in ‘Start-Up’ alongside Suzy. We loved both her character and her performance. Kang Han-Na did such an incredible job portraying the complicated character.
Her latest role is in the popular series ‘My Roommate is a Gumiho’ where she plays one of the spirits.
Despite having a relatively short career, she’s been in some amazing dramas. I can’t wait to see her one day as the main female lead. I personally think she’d be amazing. It’ll just be a matter of time.
