[Actor Spotlight] Gong Myung

In this edition of our Actor Spotlight, we are highlighting the steady and inspiring career of the charming Gong Myung.

Kim Dong-hyun (known professionally as Gong Myung) made his acting debut in 2013 in the web-series ‘After School: Lucky or Not’, alongside the members of 5urprise, the acting idol group formed under Fantagio at the time.

That same year, he also debuted on the big screen with the movie ‘If You Were Me 6’ and the short film ‘Ice River’. By 2014, his portfolio had already expanded with appearances in ‘Futureless Things’ and ‘A Girl at My Door’.

Over the following years, Gong Myung steadily built his career by diversifying roles across both TV and film. Some of his notable works include the blockbuster movie ‘Extreme Job’ (2019), the historical epic ‘Hansan: Rising Dragon’ (2022), and dramas such as ‘Entertainer’ (2016), ‘Revolutionary Love’ (2017), and the cult-favorite ‘Be Melodramatic’ (2019).

His strong portfolio naturally led him into more prominent roles. One of his most recognized performances came in 2024 with the film ‘Citizen of a Kind’, where he starred alongside Ra Mi-ran and Yeon Hye-ran.

In 2025, Gong Myung officially stepped into leading roles, starring in the dramas ‘Way Back Love’ and ‘Second Shot at Love’, as well as the Netflix film ‘Love Untangled.
