In this edition of our Rapper in the Spotlight, we are talking about an indie rapper who has been a constant presence in our weekly Hip-Hop and R&B report. Get ready to dive into LiTrilla’s discography.
Kang Jeong Joon (aka. LiTrilla) debuted independently in 2019 with the release of the EP ‘Countdown’. The title track, ‘Shakira’ featuring Club!II, was quite an uncommon indie debut. He went for a more commercial and chill sound that felt quite unique at the time. Nevertheless, the EP totally kept its indie core with tracks like ‘Raged’ and ‘Huh?’.
After a short break, he came back in 2021 with the collaborative EP ‘PLAYSTATION’ with JI HYEON MIN.
That same year, he also released his second EP, ‘Love Dystopia’, featuring YLN Foreign and TRADE L, as well as the single ‘Ride’ featuring JAEHA.
He continued his musical journey in 2022 with the release of his third EP, ‘TRUE DYSTOPIA’, alongside singles such as ‘Shh!’, ‘Maze’, ‘Please’, and more.
Solidifying His Sound
His fourth EP, ‘OXYTOCIN’, was released in 2023. With each previous release, LiTrilla had been constantly showcasing his growth and development as an artist, and with this project, he truly solidified the continuous work he had been putting into his music.
The EP showed a clear evolution in his sound and style, delivering killer tracks like ‘Runaway’ and ‘OUTSWAGGIN’’, among others.
This release was followed by the single ‘Mean It’ featuring Moon Sujin in 2024, and ‘Type B’ featuring Roh Yun Ha in 2025.
