The girls from TripleS are back with their latest mini-album ‘msnz <Beyond Beauty>’. The title was chosen from: “beautiful girl genes: moon, sun, neptune, and zenith. Born from the power of the universe, these four beautiful girl genes each possess their own dimensions, but they all combine their powers to form the beautiful girl genes known as msnz.”
This release has the members: Xinyu, YooYeon, Mayu, ChaeYeon, HyeRin, & ChaeWon.
msnz <beyond beauty>
We start with the track ‘Magic Shine New Zone’. This intro track is honestly pretty sick. I loved the beat!
‘Fly Up’ is the next track. We’re getting the typical tripleS ‘lalala’s which I love, but we’re mixing it with Nu Disco which is literally so much fun. This is a super solid track with super solid vocals.
‘Cameo Lover’ is a fun track with a lot of cool synths layered in. It’s about “a love that ends in unrequited love, a supporting role rather than the protagonist.”
I’m really digging the outro, where they play with tempo changes and harmonies.
‘Bubble Gum Girl’ is literally filling the bubblegum K-pop void in my heart and in my playlists. This is adorable, completely over the top and has insanely catchy lyrics.
The music video is filled with color and sparkles, I’m very easy to please. This is amazing.
‘Q&A’ follows that with a drum and bass instrumental with fun synths that will have you dancing in no time. The vocals are super solid, they’re beautifully layered some moments.
The closing track and the title track is ‘Christmas Alone’. This one is with all the tripleS members and it’s an utterly adorable Christmas track. It’s very wholesome to see them all together.
